When a holiday home or villa remains closed for months, seals can dry, water can evaporate from traps, humidity can build and small faults may remain unnoticed.
Opening sequence
- Ventilate and check for visible damp or water marks.
- Inspect taps and connections before opening the main water supply.
- Do not energise the system if the panel shows dampness, damage or a burning smell.
- Open taps gradually and test cisterns and drains.
- Check air-conditioning filters and drainage before extended operation.
External areas
Roofing, gutters, doors, windows, external lighting and loose accessories should be checked for wind and rain damage.
